LEC provides advisory services to clients on the fairness and accuracy of property assessments for commercial, industrial, and institutional properties.

The approach is first identify the assessment issues and potential for property tax reductions.  The second step is to determine the risk versus reward or business case for resolving the assessment issues.  This will typically result in filing an assessment appeal on behalf of the client.

Most assessment issues are resolved without the need for formal hearings.  In our experience, BC Assessment staff are professionals who seek the same outcome as property owners, fair and accurate assessments.  Our approach is to make every attempt to resolve issues with assessment staff through discussions and negotiations in the complaint period, between January 1 and January 31st of the roll year or after an assessment appeal is filed.

At each step in the process, we inform clients of progress and determine whether there continues to be a business case for continuing the appeal process.
